This is a final reminder regarding our Flu Mist vaccine clinic that will be here at the school on Wednesday, October 14th. If you plan to take advantage of this convenient opportunity, please remember to complete the consent form sent home with beginning of the year paperwork, and return it to the school by Tuesday, 9/8. If you need another copy of the consent form, please contact the school.

The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that school districts provide parents with an annual state, district, and school status reports to include but not limited to the following: student achievement, accountability and subgroup data.

The FDOE uses data to produce readily accessible school and district report cards, providing transparent information to all stakeholders. The district report card specifically reports on progress toward transitioning students from one level (elementary, middle, high) to the next and reports graduation data.

Sims Middle Beta Club Information

Here is what is happening at Sims Middle School the week of August 24-August 28.

For your convenience, our Department of Health nurses will be offering the Flu Mist vaccine here at our school on October 14, 2026. Your student should have brought home consent forms and information in their beginning of the school year paperwork. The consent form, which includes a front and back page, must be completed and returned to the school by Tuesday, September 8, 2026, for your student to receive the Flu Mist vaccine on campus during our vaccine clinic. Please review this packet, complete both the front and the back of the consent form and return it to the school by 9/8/25 if you wish to take advantage of this convenient opportunity. This year, our health department will be administering the nasal Flu Mist vaccine to every age group of students. No student will receive a vaccine without a properly completed consent form.

Tomorrow at Sims Middle School we will begin our state required instruction series with a lesson on the dangers of fentanyl. As part of Florida Statute 1003.42 https://www.flsenate.gov/laws/statutes/2021/1003.42 Required Instruction, we are required to provide students with lessons related to specific topics including suicide prevention, fentanyl awareness, mental health, resiliency, substance abuse, dating violence, abstinence, online safety, and human trafficking.
